On writing
Most of what appears here started as a note typed quickly on a phone, in a queue or a quiet meeting, before it deserved to be called an essay. Some scrawls stay short. Others grow into arguments. None of them are trying to sell anything — they exist because a thought, once it is fully formed, is more useful outside the head than inside it.
